Precautions for laying hens transfer!

The transfer of laying hens to the group refers to the transfer from the breeding period to the laying period. This stage is very important and must be carried out scientifically. In the process of transferring laying hens, the following seven aspects should be paid attention to.

1. the time should be right

Laying hens generally start production at around 20 weeks of age. In order to familiarize themselves with the environment as soon as possible and make them a harmonious group, they generally need to be transferred to the group at 18 weeks of age, otherwise the egg production will be affected.

2.the environment of the chicken house should be improved

2 to 3 days before laying hens in winter, it is necessary to warm up the chicken house in advance to make it basically the same as the original chicken house temperature. The barn is disinfected with 40% formaldehyde solution or 50% Lysol solution.

3.the prevention of stress

The shift work takes place on warm noondays in winter and cool mornings in summer. Before transferring to the group, let the chickens have an empty stomach, and the movements of catching and releasing chickens should be light. An appropriate amount of antibiotics should be added to the feed 3 to 5 days after the transfer to prevent the chickens from adapting to the environment and causing disease.

4. Reasonable grouping

The chickens should be inspected before the group transfer, and grouped according to the size of the chickens, so that relative management measures can be taken.

5.Feeding management is well connected

When the egg production rate of the flock reaches 5%, it is necessary to change the feeding of laying hens in time. Feeding changes need to gradually add laying hen feed to the feed during the growing period, and change to laying hen feed after 1 week. From the age of 19 weeks, the light was maintained for 10 hours per day; from the age of 20 weeks, the light was increased by 30 minutes per day until it reached 17 hours of light per day.

6. Feeding after transfer

1. Add 1 to 2 times of multivitamins to the feed 2 to 3 days before and 2 to 3 days after the transfer, or drink water with a vitamin-electrolyte solution. Feeding should be stopped two hours before the group transfer to prevent the chickens from being too full when the group is transferred.

2. About 2 weeks after the chickens are received, light should be added to stimulate the laying hens to start production, and the flocks whose physique and uniformity reach the standard should be lighted at 17-18 weeks, and the light should be added for 1-2 hours, and then increase by 1 hour every week until 21-22 weeks and constant after 16 hours of refill. For chickens that do not meet the standard, the timing of adding light is determined according to the moulting situation of the flock. When more than 80% of the chickens have only one main wing feather left, start adding light.

7.Matters needing attention

Before transferring to the group, you should pay attention to the weather conditions in advance. If you encounter bad weather, you should make protective preparations the day before or postpone the group transfer plan.
